I'm Mariam. I'm a 2D artist, and I'm a self-taught. I've been drawing my whole life, so traditional drawing/painting is my main thing, but since 2001 I've also started working with digital media and have become interested in photography as well.
Nowadays I do everything from digital paintings, photomanipulations, photography, retouching to traditional paintings and drawings.

My main software is Photoshop CS3 and my trusty companion a quite terrible little Wacom Volito2 tablet.

I've never liked limiting myself to only a certain subject or style, so it's typical of me to suddenly go in the opposite direction of what I've been doing so far. I love challenges. I try to push myself forward with each artwork I create.

Generally I like to challenge/provoke the viewer and pull a reaction out of them, because I think that's the difference between art and decoration. Art makes you feel and react whereas decoration simply fits in. I think that's a beautiful thing, and I aim to create different, but still intriguing artworks.
