Description

First time I've done a complete digital painting.
So yeah, this is the character from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles :)
Airbrush painting done in photoshop from start to finish with a drop shadow brush and 1 layer. No photo etc. reference, just used my imagination and memory....and for now I only have my mouse to work with..hope that will change soon.
I think the whole thing took a couple of weeks time
And check out the full version and the close-ups too if you will =)

(A big Thank You to Peter Laird & Kevin Eastman who created the TMNT.)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, everything old is indeed new again. Double check the perspective of the shell, it looks turned toward the front when compared to Raphaels' stance. 5/8

loneorbit, the shell's not flat, so therefore I think it would look like this from the side. the edges of it "curve" towards his body. You don't see the whole shell the way it would look from the side because of the shadow, much of the top part remains under it.

Great painting especially considering you used a mouse only! - if you lived here in the states I would sell you a nice (old) 4x5 tablet real cheap :)

I actually agree with loneorbit somewhat as the stance that Raphael is in would seem to indicate that the shell would be turned a little, so less round and more oval. But, I overlook it as I really like this painting and that is minor compared to the rest. Good work.

7/7

Very Good
You use the mouse very well,
just think what you could do with the tablet.

hehe, cupcake, i think my dad wants to buy me one as a present, so soon i won't have to struggle with a mouse anymore! i'm so very spoiled!!
lyn: well they show those over here some time in the morning...but I don't have tv, so I can't even watch 'em :p

thank you everyone for your comments x)

hehe nice one. I like his face. Impressive to have done this with the mouse only

But it looks like he is wearing his shell ? I mean, he 's not inside it like real turtles ? Anyway, the shell seems a bit far from the body. However good work ^^

blob: thank you very much for the compliments! i imagined that in this position the curve of his back would be inside his shell, but maybe it is still a bit far away..but then again, he's not any turtle; he's a mutant ninja turtle! so that much flexibility is possible for him! hehe
anyways, thank you!

Awesome work!! Such a big part of my childhood, I really like this a lot. If, I were to give you any criticism, I would just say sharpen some of the shadows a little bit, maybe giving it a little more definition. Otherwise, beautiful job! 7+

Haha, nice work! I loved those guys when I was a kid. Even had the action figures. Raphael was one of my favorites. I feel the shell is a little disconnected from the body, however. Still, very nice job. Very impressive mouse work! I know how hard that is.
