INTRODUCTION
______________________________________
I've been drawing my whole life, so traditional drawing/painting is my main thing, but since 2004 I've also started working with photo manipulations, photography and digital paintings.
The paintings I enter here I do in Photoshop CS3 from start to finish where I try to match the traditional technique as much as possible. The first time I did a digital painting was in 2005, when I got Photoshop and created 'Raphael' with a mouse. Later on my Wacom Volito2 came to my rescue which basically made me start a million digital paintings many of which I've yet to finish.
I've been doing manipulations and stuff like that in other progs before, but it wasn't until i got Photoshop that i got a bit more serious about the whole thing. I'm a surrealist for the most part, but I like to do some portraits etc. too some times for the variety.
Whatever I present here is self-taught. Basically what I'm aiming for nowadays is to try to create something original each time and to push myself forward instead of getting stuck in a particular style for ages. I like to challenge/provoke the viewer, because I think that's the difference between art and decoration. Art makes you feel and react whereas decoration simply fits in. I think that's a beautiful thing, and I consider it a great personal accomplishment if I manage to do that in one way or another.
About photography, I got interested in that some years ago, I'm pretty much still trying to figure it out. For now it's all about exploring and just having fun =)
Anyways, enough babbling, hope you have fun looking around, comments&crits are always welcome and I'll do my best to return the gesture. Have a nice day!
